India PM Modi says Ram has a kindred connect with Nepal

AYODHYA: India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi today said that Lord Ram has a kindred connect with Nepal given ‘Mata Sita’ was from the country.

He made the remarks after offering prayers and laying the foundation stone for a temple at the site believed to be the birthplace of Lord Ram in Ayodhya of Uttar Pradesh.

Meanwhile, he also said that Indonesia, with largest Muslim population, has its own versions of Ramayana and Lord Ram remains a respected figure in the country.

On the occasion, PM Modi said a grand temple will now be built for Ram Lalla who had been staying in a tent for decades, Hindustan Times reported.

“Today, Ram janmbhoomi breaks free of the cycle of breaking and getting built again – that had been going on for centuries,” the newspaper quoted PM Modi as saying.

PM Modi also said India is creating a golden chapter in Ayodhya adding that the wait of centuries ends today.

He also used silver bricks during the rituals.
