YCN criticizes Chinese Ambassador Hou’s ‘undiplomatic’ activities

KATHMANDU: The Youth Congress Nepal (YCN), youth’s organization, has protested what it called ‘undiplomatic’ activities of Chinese Ambassador to Nepal Hou Yanqi in the country in recent days.

“We are dejected by the undiplomatic activities of the Chinese ambassador to Nepal,” a statement issued by the youths said on Wednesday.

“Her meetings with the leaders of the ruling Nepal Communist Party (NCP) and other individuals from the state organs in not just unconstitutional and against diplomacy but also a threat to Nepal’s sovereignty,” the statement said.

It has also raised serious concern over the silence of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on such issues.

Likewise, the Youth Congress Nepal has criticized the Indian television ZEE News for disgracefully linking Nepal’s Prime Minister KP Oli with the Chinese Ambassador to Nepal, Yanki.

“Such an act is regretful and baseless,” the statement said, adding, “We condemn the news and ask the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for a diplomatic interrogation with the concerned authorities.”
