Community learning program comes to aid of school children during lockdown

BANKE: The Community Learning Program has been run in Nepalgunj targeting the school children. The program has made students, who were forced to limit themselves inside the house for the past four months due to coronavirus pandemic, active.

Students have started giving continuity to their learning activities by participating in the program run by Jayjanata Secondary School at Nepalgunj Sub-Metropolitan City-20.

School Headteacher Ram Bahadur Pandey said that they have started making students active in their teaching-learning activities reaching the localities as it is not feasible to run classes in the school following coronavirus pandemic.

He added that they teach students in two shifts gathering them at a community building and public place by maintaining social distance. Students are also happy after getting opportunity to read at their own locality even in lockdown.

The community learning program has been lunched after school distributed course books to the students.
The community learning program is started in two shifts—10:30 am to 12:45 pm and 12:45 pm to 2:45 pm.

The community learning program has become successful at the support and coordination of representatives of ward, office-bearers of school management committee and guardians.

Chairperson of School Management Committee, Jagga Bahadur Chhantyal, said that the school has started community learning program as there was no situation to teach students through radio and television.
There are some 800 students in the school established in 2043 BS.
