Govt, ‘Enough Is Enough’ seal 12-pt deal, hunger strike put off



KATHMANDU: Youths associated with the campaign ‘Enough Is Enough,’ and the government have reached a 12-point agreement.

With the agreement signed, the campaigner Ishan Adhikari has broken his hunger-strike on Tuesday morning. The Ministry of Health and the campaigner on Monday signed a 12-point deal.

According to the agreement, foreign-returnees will be kept in home quarantine, hotel quarantine or public quarantine as per their wishes after undergoing coronavirus tests five days after they joined the quarantine.

Home quarantine directive will be prepared within a week according to the agreement.

The RDT tests will be stopped and PCR screening will be made available for all those at risk of coronavirus and those staying in quarantine.

Likewise, only those who test negative for coronavirus will be sent back home and rehabilitated in the society, reads the agreement.

The youths had been demanding PRC screening, proper management of quarantine camps, end to corruption among others.
