Two held on rape charge in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: Police have arrested two persons on charge of raping a 29-year-old woman from Gokarneshwor in Kathmandu.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) of Metropolitan Police Circle, Bouddha, Nabin Karki said that the two men were arrested from Makalbari area of Gokarneshwor Municipality after receiving a complaint.

DSP Karki confirmed that 27-year-old Pasang Sherpa of Gaurishankar Rural Municipality-4 from Dolakha district and Bhuvan Bista, 28, from Sindhupalchowk district were nabbed for their alleged involvement in the wrongdoing.

As per the initial probe, the police said the youths raped the lady in tipsy mood after intoxicating her. Police stated that further investigations were on over the case.
