Case filed against controversial ascetic Bomjon demanding 14-year jail term

SARLAHI: District Government Attorney’s Office Sarlahi has filed a case against ascetic Ram Bahadur Bomjon on charges of raping and making children disappear.

According to District Attorney Keshav Prasad Gautam, they have demanded a jail sentence up to 14 years as per the Act Relating to Children, 2018.

Likewise, JB Gurung and Gyan Bamjan have also been alleged of acting as Bomjon’s accomplices.

The Attorney Office has demanded seven year jail sentence to the duo.

Despite several raids at Bonjom’s Sindhupalchowk-based ashram, police have not been able to arrest him.

Bomjon has been alleged of murders and rapes inside his ashram.

A Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) team had earlier raided Bomjan’s ashram in Sindhuli acting on a tipoff. However, police were not able to find him.

Police had in February 7 raided Bomjon’s ashram just to return empty-handed.

He has been accused of rapes and murders. As many as five cases have been filed against him for murdering his disciple, raping a nun, and making a disciple and three nuns disappear.
