COVID-19: From one to 181 in 30 days

NEPALGUNJ: Coronavirus infection that was first reported in Nepalgunj sub-metropolis and later in Narainapur rural municipality has now spread across the whole of Banke district.

The first reported case in Banke was on May 1 in Nepalgunj and in a period one month since then the number of infected has reached 181. On Friday, 10 people were confirmed positive to Coronavirus in Daduwa rural municipality of the district.

The infection that began in Nepalgunj has now spread to Narainapur, Khajura, Raptisonari, Dadauwa and Baijanath rural municipality. Narainapur rural municipality has become a hotspot with 114 cases including one death as of Friday.

Nepalgunj has recorded 27 cases, Daduwa has 18, Raptisonari has 12, Baijanath has seven and three in Khajura. Of the eight local level units in the district, only Kohalpur municipality and Janaki rural municipality have not reported a single case so far, according to Corona focal person at District Health Office, Banke Naresh Shrestha.

Of those infected in Banke, five are undergoing treatment at the Corona special hospital in Beljhundi, Dang while others are responding to treatment in the district itself.

Out of  them 10 are admitted at the Corona special hospital in Khajura, 23 at the Lions dental hospital, 39 at Agriculture Training Centre, 41 at the Agriculture Development Bank, isolation centre, Kohalpur, 11 in Raptisonari isolation centre, 18 at the Sahaparuwa Daduwa isolation centre and seven at the Bankatwa primary health centre in Baijanath.
