RASUWA: Rescue operations for people affected by the Bhotekoshi River flood in Rasuwa have been intensified, with 330 people evacuated to safety by Nepal Army helicopters as of 1:30 pm on Monday.
The Nepal Army said technical and expert teams have been deployed to search for and rescue people believed to be trapped inside tunnels of hydropower projects damaged by the flood.
At the Trishuli-3 hydropower project, a rescue team has descended around 15 metres into the tunnel to conduct the search operation.
Similarly, an expert team from the Nepal Army has continued search and rescue efforts inside the tunnel of the Trishuli-3B (3G) hydropower project.
At the Rasuwa Gadhi Hydropower Project, a joint team of security personnel entered around 250 metres into the tunnel in search of missing people. However, no one was found and the team subsequently returned outside, according to the Nepal Army.
More than 8,900 Nepal Army personnel have been directly deployed in the flood-affected areas to coordinate and strengthen rescue operations.
According to the Shreenath Battalion of the Nepal Army, personnel are conducting search, rescue and relief operations along riverbanks, in mountainous areas and at the homes of local residents.
