Defeating anti-federalism forces like RSP in Madhesh will honors the martyrs: CK Raut

KATHMANDU: Janamat Party Chair CK Raut has accused the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) of being anti-federalism, saying the party’s officially endorsed policies contradict statements made by individual leaders during election season.

In a Facebook post on Friday, Raut said decisions passed by RSP’s central committee and parliamentary party meetings clearly reflect an anti-federal stance. He argued that remarks made by a single leader close to elections, aimed at attracting votes from Madhesh, carry no real significance.

“Politics is guided by policies endorsed by the party’s central committee and parliamentary party, not by statements made by one individual at the time of elections to attract Madhesh votes,” Raut wrote.

His remarks came in response to a recent statement by RSP senior leader Balen Shah, who, speaking at a program in Janakpurdham, the capital of Madhesh Province, said the party would move forward by strengthening federalism.

Rejecting that claim, Raut said abolishing federalism has remained a consistent agenda of RSP and that the party has formally taken such decisions through its internal meetings.

Raut further stated that defeating anti-federal forces in Madhesh would be a true tribute to Madheshi martyrs, emphasizing that the region would move forward by rejecting parties opposed to federalism.

“Defeating anti-federal forces from Madhesh will be the real respect to the Madheshi martyrs,” he added.
