Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu hosts art exhibition and artist talk



KATHMANDU: The Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu organized an art exhibition and artist talk titled “Colours of Pakistan through the Brush of a Nepali Artist” at the Embassy premises. The exhibition showcased the works of renowned Nepali artist Bidhata KC, inspired by her artistic journey and experiences in Pakistan.

The event drew a distinguished audience, including art enthusiasts, practitioners, civil society representatives, media professionals, social media influencers, and friends and families of the Pakistan Embassy. The diverse turnout highlighted the strong interest in cultural exchange and people-to-people connectivity between Pakistan and Nepal.

During the program, Ms. Bidhata KC shared her experiences participating in the “Artist Residency Program for South Asian Countries” in Pakistan. She described her travels across the country and the rich artistic, cultural, and social impressions that shaped her creative expression. Through her paintings, she depicted Pakistan’s vibrant landscapes, heritage, and cultural diversity.

The artist expressed her heartfelt gratitude to the Government of Pakistan and the Pakistan Embassy in Kathmandu for offering her the residency opportunity and warmly acknowledged Pakistan’s art, culture, and hospitality during her stay.

Addressing the audience, Ambassador of Pakistan to Nepal, Abrar Hashmi, praised Ms. KC for her exceptional work and her creative interpretation of Pakistan through a Nepali perspective. He underscored the importance of cultural diplomacy as a cornerstone of Pakistan-Nepal relations and reaffirmed the Embassy’s commitment to promoting shared history, culture, and mutual understanding between the two countries.

Attendees also commended the Pakistan Embassy for organizing the event and lauded KC’s artistic excellence and thoughtful expression. On the occasion, the Embassy announced that the Pakistan Food Festival will be held in Kathmandu from 5 to 7 February 2026, providing another opportunity to celebrate Pakistan’s rich cultural heritage and culinary traditions with the Nepali public.
