Govt allocates Rs 13.15 billion for free medicines and maternal health program



KATHMANDU: The government has allocated Rs 13.15 billion for various social health protection programmes, including treatment support for poor citizens, maternal safety programmes, free medicine distribution, and social health security initiatives.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle made the announcement while presenting the budget for fiscal year 2026/27 in the Federal Parliament.

He said the allocation is aimed at strengthening access to essential healthcare services and expanding social protection coverage for vulnerable groups.
