Govt allocates Rs 46.42 billion for agriculture ministry



KATHMANDU: The government has allocated Rs 46.42 billion for the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock Development in the upcoming fiscal year 2026/27.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle made the announcement while presenting the annual budget in the Federal Parliament on Friday.

He said the allocation is aimed at strengthening agricultural production, livestock development, and sectoral modernization.

The government has also announced plans to seek World Heritage listing for Tilaurakot in Kapilvastu, Gokarneshwar in Kathmandu, and Janakpur Dham as part of efforts to preserve and promote Nepal’s cultural and historical heritage.
