KATHMANDU: The government has introduced a wide-ranging industrial reform package in the federal budget for Fiscal Year 2026/27, featuring concessional loans for women entrepreneurs, reduced electricity tariffs for industries, and private-sector management of the Motipur and Mayurdhap industrial zones.
Presenting the budget in Parliament, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle said women-led enterprises will be given priority access in Special Economic Zones (SEZs). He also announced the introduction of a single-window system to streamline tax, customs, and investment procedures.
In addition, industries operating on leased land within industrial zones and SEZs will be permitted to use their physical infrastructure as collateral for securing bank loans.
