Govt doubles nurses’ night allowance



KATHMANDU: The government has announced a twofold increase in night-shift allowances for nurses working in public health facilities.

Presenting the federal budget for Fiscal Year 2026/27, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle said the decision is intended to boost morale and improve the welfare of frontline healthcare workers.

The government has also committed to upgrading burn treatment services at Bir Hospital and Kirtipur Hospital, aiming to enhance emergency response and specialized care for burn patients.
