Govt announces modern cricket stadiums in 8 major cities



KATHMANDU: The government has announced plans to construct modern cricket stadiums in eight major cities within the next five years.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle made the announcement while presenting the budget for fiscal year 2026/27 in the Federal Parliament.

He said the cities of Biratnagar, Lahan, Kathmandu, Pokhara, Birendranagar (Surkhet), and Dhangadhi will have modern sports infrastructure developed under the plan.

He also announced that indoor multipurpose stadiums with a minimum capacity of 2,000 spectators will be built in these locations within the next three years.
