Govt announces 40% investment incentive for agriculture pilot program



KATHMANDU: The government has announced a new pilot program offering a 40 percent investment incentive subsidy for farmers investing in agriculture and livestock production.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle made the announcement while presenting the national budget for fiscal year 2026/27 in the Federal Parliament.

He said the government aims to transform agriculture into a respectable and profit-oriented business sector.

Under the pilot program, farmers investing at least Rs 20 million in agriculture and livestock production will be eligible for the 40 percent investment incentive grant.
