Govt targets Rs 20 billion savings through spending cuts



KATHMANDU: The government has announced a plan to save Rs 20 billion by cutting general expenditures in the upcoming fiscal year.

Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle made the announcement while presenting the budget for fiscal year 2026/27 in the Federal Parliament.

Presenting the annual budget, Wagle said the savings would be achieved through the abolition and restructuring of various government bodies, as well as cuts in unnecessary administrative expenses.
