PM Balen Shah attends Parliament during budget presentation

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Balen Shah attended today’s parliamentary session during the presentation of the budget for the fiscal year 2026/27 by Finance Minister Swarnim Wagle.

However, the Prime Minister is not scheduled to address the House. Although Shah was appointed Prime Minister on March 28, he has yet to deliver a speech in Parliament.

During the presentation of the government’s policies and programs for the fiscal year 2026/27 by President Ram Chandra Paudel, Shah briefly attended the House before leaving.

Opposition parties had repeatedly questioned his absence from subsequent parliamentary sessions. Today’s session, however, is expected to see his presence throughout the budget presentation.
