UML secretariat holds emergency meeting after Oli’s arrest



KATHMANDU: An emergency meeting of the secretariat of the CPN-UML has begun.

The meeting, currently underway at the party’s central office in Chyasal, is discussing the party’s official position and future strategy following the arrest of party chair KP Sharma Oli.

According to the report of the investigation commission formed to probe the September 8 and 9, 2025, Gen Z movement incidents, the newly formed government arrested Oli from his residence in Gundu, Bhaktapur, on Saturday morning.

Oli is currently being held at the Kathmandu District Police Range. Police said he was arrested in connection with an investigation into charges related to an offence involving loss of life.
