Arrested KP Sharma Oli taken to TUTH for health checkup

KATHMANDU:  KP Sharma Oli, chair of the CPN-UML and former prime minister, has been taken to Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for a medical examination.

Oli was taken to the hospital after being held for some time at the Kathmandu Valley Police Office following his arrest earlier today from his residence in Gundu.

Police action comes after the government led by Balendra Shah decided to implement recommendations made by a probe commission formed to investigate the Gen-Z movement.

The commission, headed by former justice Gauri Bahadur Karki, had recommended criminal action against several officials including former prime minister Oli and former home minister Ramesh Lekhak.

Based on those recommendations, police arrested both Oli and Lekhak earlier today.
