Police seize DDC documents for investigation

KATHMANDU: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police on Wednesday took control of important documents from the Dairy Development Corporation (DDC) office in Lainchaur for investigation purposes.

CIB spokesperson and Senior Superintendent of Police Shiva Kumar Shrestha said a team was deployed to the office to collect the documents as part of an ongoing investigation.

“We are responsible for taking control of and investigating matters that come to us. We have taken the documents for investigation, and further details will be known only after the probe progresses,” SSP Shrestha said.

The DDC has been facing criticism for failing to clear millions of rupees in dues owed to farmers. Authorities have stated that around Rs 10 million in outstanding payments is currently being disbursed daily.
