Health Minister Mehta meets Bhutanese counterpart



KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Food Hygiene Nisha Mehta held a meeting with Bhutanese Health Minister Lyonpo Tendin Wangchuck.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 79th World Health Assembly of the World Health Organization in Geneva, Switzerland, according to Joint Spokesperson of the Ministry, Dr. Sameer Kumar Adhikari.

During the meeting, both ministers stressed the need for mutual cooperation in addressing common health challenges faced by the two countries.

Dr. Adhikari said discussions also focused on strengthening a resilient, inclusive, and people-centred healthcare system.

The two sides also reached an understanding to further strengthen the health systems of both countries, he added.

Earlier, Minister Mehta had held bilateral meetings with her Indian and Chinese counterparts on the sidelines of the Assembly.
