PM Shah holds joint meeting with EU ambassadors and mission heads

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister Balen Shah held a joint meeting with non-resident ambassadors and mission heads of European Union (EU)-affiliated countries based in Kathmandu and New Delhi on Tuesday.

The meeting took place at Singha Durbar as the government intensifies preparations for the upcoming national budget.

According to sources, discussions during the meeting focused on recent political developments following the formation of the new government, the upcoming budget, and the aviation ban imposed on Nepal by European authorities.

Diplomatic and bilateral cooperation issues were also discussed during the collective interaction with representatives of key donor nations.

Prime Minister Balen Shah had previously declined separate one-on-one meetings with diplomats from the United States, the European Union, and India.

Tuesday’s meeting marks a rare collective engagement between the Prime Minister and senior representatives of EU member states amid ongoing discussions on Nepal’s economic priorities and international cooperation.
