PM Balen calls Cabinet meeting amid ongoing demolition drive

KATHMANDU: Prime Minister (PM) Balendra Shah (Balen) has called a Cabinet meeting for 3 pm today.

The meeting has been convened while the demolition of squatter settlements in the Kathmandu Valley is ongoing using bulldozers.

According to a source, the Cabinet meeting is being held on Sunday, a public holiday, as the removal of informal settlements along riverbanks in Kathmandu continues under the Prime Minister’s directive, which began on Saturday.

The meeting is expected to take up some important decisions in the midst of the ongoing eviction and clearance campaign.
