Senior-most lawmaker KC to be sworn in today



KATHMANDU: President Ram Chandra Paudel is set to administer the oath of office and secrecy to Arjun Narsingh KC, the senior-most member elected to the House of Representatives (HoR), today.

The oath-taking ceremony is scheduled for 11:15 am at the Office of the President, Sheetal Niwas. KC holds the position of senior member among those elected in the House of Representatives polls held on March 5.

A total of 165 members were elected under the first-past-the-post system and 110 through the proportional representation (PR) system. KC, a Nepali Congress leader, was elected under the proportional representation category.

Following his swearing-in, senior member KC will administer the oath of office and secrecy to newly elected members of the House of Representatives on Thursday.
