UML secretariat meeting continues at Oli residence today

KATHMANDU: The secretariat meeting of the CPN-UML is set to continue today as well at the residence of party chair KP Sharma Oli in Gundu.

The meeting, scheduled to begin at 11:30 am on Saturday, follows discussions that started on Friday, where members began presenting their views on contemporary party issues.

According to party sources, leaders who were unable to speak in the previous meeting will continue to present their opinions today.

During Friday’s meeting, some leaders reportedly suggested that Oli should consider making way for new leadership, indicating growing internal debate within the party.

Today’s session is expected to hear views from senior leaders including General Secretary Shankar Pokharel, Vice General Secretary Lekhraj Bhatta, Raghubir Mahaseth, and Yogesh Bhattarai among others.

Sources say that based on the feedback received during the discussions, the party may revise proposed names for departmental assignments later today.

The ongoing meeting is seen as significant as internal suggestions regarding leadership and organizational restructuring continue to emerge within the UML leadership circle.
