Constitution amendment taskforce meeting to be held today in Kathmandu



KATHMANDU: The second meeting of the ‘Constitution Amendment Discussion Paper Preparation Taskforce-2026’ is scheduled to be held today in Kathmandu.

The taskforce was formed under the coordination of political advisor to Prime Minister Balendra Shah, Asim Shah.

According to the Prime Minister’s secretariat, the meeting will take place at 3 pm at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers in Singha Durbar.

The agenda of the meeting includes discussions on major issues identified for possible constitutional amendments, based on written suggestions and opinions received from various political parties.

The taskforce will also deliberate on its proposed action plan and future course of work, aiming to prepare a comprehensive framework for constitutional reform discussions.

Officials said the group is expected to refine key amendment agendas before moving forward with broader political consultations.
