Seven APF personnel collapse during training run in Tikapur, airlifted to Kathmandu

KATHMANDU: Seven personnel of the Armed Police Force (APF) stationed at the Ugra Tara Battalion and Customs Revenue and Industrial Training Center in Tikapur collapsed during a routine morning run on Friday.

According to officials, the incident occurred at around 6 am during regular physical training. The seven personnel who lost consciousness were immediately rushed to Tikapur Hospital for treatment.

Doctors suspect severe heat stroke as the cause of their condition. As their health condition worsened, authorities arranged to transfer them to Kathmandu for advanced treatment.

The injured personnel are being airlifted to the capital by a helicopter of the Nepali Army.

Kailali and several other districts across the Tarai-Madhesh region have been witnessing extreme heat in recent days, with temperatures in some areas nearing 40 degrees Celsius, affecting normal daily life.
