Campaign to launch ‘One district: One healthy city’ in Bagmati Province



BHAKTAPUR: The Ministry of Health in Bagmati Province is all set to launch a ‘One district: One healthy city’ campaign in all 13 districts in the province.

Talking to RSS, Health Minister Kiran Thapamagar shared that the Ministry launched a campaign of declaring one city or municipality in each district in a bid to ensure healthy population.

Discussions and orientations have already been conducted for chiefs of public health offices, district hospitals, bodies concerned of the 13 districts, which would prepare necessary action plan for creating healthy, safe and sustainable city. The Health Minister directed all bodies concerned to forward preparations in line with orientation.

Secretary at the Health Ministry in the province, Sumitra Gautam, expressed the view that the campaign would be launched with an objective of making every citizen of Bagmati Province healthy. A plan was also formulated to make health sector practical, sustainable and result-oriented with, which she argued, would help in developing Bagmati as a model province in health sector. (RSS)
