Indefinite curfew continues in Gaur Municipality

GAUR: An indefinite curfew remains in effect in Gaur Municipality of Rautahat district today (Sunday), the District Administration Office confirmed, as authorities continue to maintain security and public order following recent unrest.

Chief District Officer Dinesh Sagar Bhusal emphasized that all gatherings, rallies, meetings, and processions are strictly prohibited. The curfew will remain in force until further notice, with authorities closely monitoring the situation.

The restricted area extends from Mudbalwa Gate in the east to Lalbakaiya Dam in the west, Bam Canal in the north, and the Gaur Customs Office boundary in the south. Movement, assemblies, demonstrations, and any form of public gathering are banned within this perimeter.

The curfew was first imposed at 1 pm on Saturday following a dispute between local community members. While officials report that the situation has largely stabilized, the measure has been maintained as a precaution to prevent further escalation and ensure lasting peace.

Authorities have warned that violators of the curfew will face strict legal action. Residents have been urged to cooperate fully with the administration and law enforcement agencies to restore normalcy and maintain law and order in the municipality.
