Nepal elected WHO vice-chair at World Health Assembly



KATHMANDU: Nepal has been elected vice-chair of the World Health Organization.

The 79th session of the World Health Assembly currently underway in Geneva elected five countries, including Nepal, as vice-chairs on Monday.

According to the WHO, Libya, Mali, Poland and Papua New Guinea were also elected vice-chairs alongside Nepal.

A Nepali delegation led by Health and Food Hygiene Minister Nisha Mehta is currently in Geneva to participate in the assembly.
