KATHMANDU: The Nepali Communist Party (NCP) has urged all concerned stakeholders to demonstrate responsibility and commitment to ensure a clean, fair and fear-free election environment.
Organizing a press conference at the party’s central office in Parisdanda on Tuesday, the NCP Election Mobilization Committee called on the government, security agencies, the Election Commission Nepal, and other relevant bodies to uphold the highest level of integrity and accountability.
The party stated that collective efforts from all sides have brought the country to a decisive phase of the election process. It also claimed that public trust and confidence in the NCP are growing.
Coordinator of the NCP Election Mobilization Committee, Agni Prasad Sapkota, said that the NCP is the only force capable of leading the country in the right direction with honesty. He emphasized the need to safeguard national independence, sovereignty and unity while steering the country out of crisis.
The party also expressed serious concern over alleged violations of the election code of conduct. It accused some media outlets of spreading misleading and inaccurate information against the NCP in violation of journalistic norms and ethics.
Sapkota further said that forces seeking to disrupt the election are still active, urging the Election Commission to play an effective role in ensuring the polls are held on schedule.
Referring to recent reports, he claimed that the NCP is set to emerge as the largest party in the upcoming election. The party has called on voters to critically evaluate the past and present roles, ideologies, agendas and future roadmaps of all political parties, and to make a prudent decision in favor of change, stability and prosperity while protecting historical achievements.
