Three workers die after being buried under brick pile in Sarlahi



SARLAHI: Three workers have died after being buried under a collapsed brick structure at a brick factory in Haripur Municipality.

The deceased have been identified as Fitai Mansur, 50, of Ramban in Haripur Municipality–7; Shambhu Raut, 35, of Gaudeta in Haripur Municipality–9; and Angad Kumar, 35, of Lakhempur, India. The incident occurred at Krishna Brick Factory in Majurwa while they were removing bricks, when a wall suddenly collapsed.

According to the Area Police Office, Haripur, all three died while undergoing treatment at the Provincial Hospital, Malangwa.

Two others were injured in the incident. Tulsi Mahato, 32, of Malangwa Municipality–7, is receiving treatment at the Provincial Hospital in Malangwa, while Satya Narayan, 52, of the same area, and Fitai Mansur were initially treated at a local clinic in Majurwa before being referred.

Police said that a team from the Armed Police Force (APF) and local residents reached the site after receiving information around 6:30 pm on Friday evening and rescued the injured, sending them for treatment in Malangwa. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
