KATHMANDU: Former President Bidya Devi Bhandari and Prime Minister Sushila Karki visited Gundu, Bhaktapur, to meet CPN-UML Chairman KP Sharma Oli, who is mourning the loss of his father.

Former President Bhandari arrived at Oli’s residence on Sunday afternoon, accompanied by some aides. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Karki reached Gundu around 1 pm to offer her condolences and spoke with Oli upon arrival. Security arrangements were tightened in the area since her visit.

Oli’s father, Mohan Prasad Oli, passed away on Friday at the age of 97 at Korean Hospital in Bhaktapur. Oli is currently managing his father’s affairs in Gundu.

Despite the recent loss, Oli attended the UML secretariat meeting on Saturday. The meeting, chaired by Vice President Ram Bahadur Thapa Badal, elected 16 proportional representation MPs from the UML.
