Sushil Bahadur Bajracharya appointed acting vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University

KATHMANDU: The government has appointed Prof. Dr. Sushil Bahadur Bajracharya, dean of the Institute of Engineering Studies, as the acting vice-chancellor of Tribhuvan University.

The position became vacant after the government led by Prime Minister and Chancellor Balen Shah introduced an ordinance to remove office-bearers appointed by the previous administration.

Before the ordinance came into effect, all top university officials, including Vice-Chancellor Deepak Aryal, had already resigned.

Former Rector Khadga KC and Registrar Kedar Prasad Rijal had also stepped down from their positions.

Following the leadership vacuum at the university, Bajracharya was assigned the responsibility of acting vice-chancellor.

Meanwhile, a recommendation committee has already been formed to appoint a new vice-chancellor, and the application process has begun. The government has set a 10-day deadline for applications.
