Traffic enforcement generates Rs 2.177 million in revenue in a single day



KATHMANDU: A total of 2,365 motorists were penalized for violating traffic rules in the past 24 hours, generating Rs 2.177 million in revenue for the state treasury.

According to the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, 88 individuals were booked for drunk driving, while 258 were penalized for operating ride-sharing services in violation of regulations. Similarly, 156 motorists were fined for jumping traffic lights and 174 for over-speeding.

Likewise, 123 drivers were punished for failing to maintain lane discipline, 128 for honking in restricted areas, 124 for illegal roadside parking, and 163 for driving on one-way roads. An additional 1,121 motorists faced action for various other traffic violations.
