Prachanda warns ‘those who burn the country and promote misrule will be defeated’

KATHMANDU: Nepali Communist Party Coordinator Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ has claimed that voters will defeat forces that incite unrest, corruption, misgovernance, and repression in the upcoming House of Representatives election.

Addressing a public interaction program in Chunbang, Rukum East, on Saturday afternoon, Dahal commented on the recent election results in Bangladesh.
“Singha Durbar, the Parliament building, and the Supreme Court were set ablaze.

Private property and individual homes were burned. Now those who set fires and create destruction will lose,” he said. “Those who brought republic and change will win.”

He stressed the need to learn lessons from Bangladesh’s election, noting that forces responsible for arson and instability were defeated there. “It was said that those who spread violence during elections would win, but they lost. Those seeking stability emerged victorious,” he added.

Dahal expressed confidence that election outcomes would not be determined by rumors spread on social media, but by informed decisions of the people based on facts.

He further claimed that the people of Rolpa and Rukum understand the consequences of arson, misrule, repression, and violence. “People here have already understood, and soon the rest of the country will understand as well,” he said.

Dahal also pledged to develop Rukum East as a new model of development, citing the progress made in Bharatpur as an example. He said efforts would now move toward establishing a new model of development and socialism.
