NC General Secretaries vow to continue process

KATHMANDU: Despite being expelled by the central committee of the Sher Bahadur Deuba faction, Nepali Congress General Secretaries Gagan Kumar Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma attended the ongoing Special General Convention.

At the closed session, Thapa addressed the delegates, saying the convention will proceed according to its own process. “This Special Convention has been demanded and conducted by 2,488 delegates exercising their rights,” he told the participants.

He added that efforts were made to reach an understanding outside the convention, but these attempts were unsuccessful. Thapa stressed that the Special Convention will move forward as mandated by the majority of its delegates.
