Decisive talks begin at Deuba’s Maharajgunj residence as NC rift deepens



KATHMANDU: Decisive talks aimed at resolving the ongoing dispute within the Nepali Congress have begun at party President Sher Bahadur Deuba’s residence in Maharajgunj.

The meeting is taking place even as the election process for the party’s Special General Convention continues at Bhrikutimandap.

Deuba has called the meeting for what has been described as a final round of talks and has invited General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma to take part.

Leaders from the establishment faction, including Bal Krishna Khand and Ramesh Lekhak, are also attending the meeting.

From the Shekhar Koirala group, leaders including Dr Minendra Rijal are present at the talks.
