193,000 voters registered in Baglung



BAGLUNG: A total of 193,381 voters have been registered in Baglung district for the upcoming House of Representatives election scheduled for March 5.

According to the District Election Office, Baglung, the voter roll includes 94,806 male and 98,574 female voters. District Election Officer Yagya Prasad Rijal said the highest number of new registrations came from the 16–28 age group during the voter registration period.

Rijal said 5,253 voters were added across the district during the latest registration drive. He noted that young people showed the greatest interest in registering as voters.

Of the total new registrations, 100 voters from outside the district registered their names in Baglung. A total of 1,464 people registered directly at the District Election Office, while 3,929 registered through the National Identity System.

Baglung has two constituencies. Constituency No. 1 has 98,846 voters across 115 polling stations in 48 polling centers, while Constituency No. 2 has 95,335 voters across 115 polling stations in 59 polling centers.
