Two-day women’s health camp to screen for cervical and breast cancer in Panchthar

PANCHTHAR: An expert health team from Kathmandu is set to conduct screening and treatment services for cervical cancer, uterine prolapse, and breast cancer in Yasok, Kummayak Rural Municipality, Panchthar.

According to Bijayabodh Lawati, chairperson of the Padmasundar Lawati Foundation, the medical team will provide diagnosis and treatment services during a two-day health camp (June 15-16) to be held at Kummayak Basic Hospital from 7 am to 5 pm.

The organizing group expects women not only from Kummayak Rural Municipality but also from nearby local units to benefit from the camp.

Foundation advisor Sagun Sundar Lawati said the initiative was launched to address the lack of regular gynecological health services in remote villages of Panchthar.

The health camp has been organized with support from Kummayak Rural Municipality, along with the Rotary Club of Kasthamandap, Kathmandu, NNCTR Nepal, Banepa, and the Nepalese Doctors Association (UK).
