Health Minister, Indian Ambassador discuss strengthening bilateral health cooperation



KATHMANDU: Minister for Health and Population Nisha Mehta held a meeting with Indian Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava on Monday, discussing longstanding bilateral relations and cooperation in the health sector.

According to the Ministry of Health and Population, the meeting focused on the historical and close ties between Nepal and India, along with various dimensions of ongoing collaboration in health services.

During the meeting, Ambassador Srivastava extended congratulations to Minister Mehta on her appointment and wished her a successful tenure.

Minister Mehta, in turn, expressed gratitude to the Government of India for its continued support in Nepal’s health, drinking water, and sanitation sectors.

The two sides also held constructive discussions on strengthening national-level health science institutions, developing specialized treatment centers, and expanding health infrastructure in the coming days.

Both sides expressed commitment to further deepening cooperation in the health sector, aiming to enhance service delivery and institutional capacity in Nepal.
