Deuba’s secretariat refutes rumours of his visit to NC special convention

KATHMANDU: The secretariat of Nepali Congress President Sher Bahadur Deuba has objected to what it described as false information circulating on social media claiming that Deuba would attend the party’s special convention at Bhrikutimandap.

Deuba’s aide Bhanu Deuba clarified that there is no program for the party president to visit the venue of the special convention.

“The secretariat has taken serious note of the misinformation being spread that Nepali Congress President and former Prime Minister Sher Bahadur Deuba is going to Bhrikutimandap today,” the secretariat said in a statement. “We would like to clearly state that there is no schedule for the party president to attend that program.”

The clarification comes amid heightened political activity within the Nepali Congress as the special convention called by General Secretaries Gagan Thapa and Bishwa Prakash Sharma continues in Kathmandu.
