Government announces constitutional amendment through political consensus



KATHMANDU: The government has announced that the Constitution will be amended through cooperation among political parties.

Presenting the government’s policies and programmes during the joint session of the Federal Parliament on Monday, President Ram Chandra Poudel made the announcement.

He said the government would work to ensure equal ownership and inclusion of all classes, regions, and communities. He further stated that common agendas for constitutional amendment would be identified through dialogue and cooperation with political parties, and a discussion paper on constitutional amendment would be prepared accordingly.
