House of Representatives monsoon session begins amid opposition protest



KATHMANDU: The monsoon session of the House of Representatives began on Monday.

The first meeting of the session is currently underway at the new Federal Parliament Building in Singha Durbar.

Soon after the session began, lawmakers from the Nepali Congress, CPN-UML, and Shram Sanskriti Party, among others, stood up and registered their protest inside the House.

Speaker Harka Raj Rai and other members stood in protest at the beginning of the meeting, drawing attention to their concerns at the outset of the session.
