Armed Police Force intensifies border security in Kailali and Kanchanpur

MAHENDRANAGAR: The government has significantly increased the deployment of security personnel along the Nepal–India border in Kailali and Kanchanpur districts to enhance frontier safety and curb illegal activities.

According to the Armed Police Force (APF) No. 7 Baijanath Brigade, specialized teams consisting of 30 members each have been mobilized to conduct continuous, round-the-clock patrolling.

This move is part of a broader strategy to strengthen the presence of security forces at critical transit points and vulnerable sections of the border.

The APF currently operates through a network of Border Security Gulms and Border Out Posts (BOPs) to monitor cross-border movement and eliminate smuggling.

Beyond their primary security duties, the reinforced units are also tasked with conducting disaster management awareness programs within local communities and schools to improve regional resilience against natural hazards.
