Bomb explosion at law firm in Siraha leaves one injured



KATHMANDU: A bomb explosion occurred at Madhesh Law Firm located in front of the Siraha District Court in Siraha on Wednesday afternoon, leaving one person injured.

According to Siraha District Police Office Information Officer Ramesh Bahadur Pal, the explosion took place at around 4:15 pm.

Police said the blast occurred at the firm operated by advocate Madhusudan Prasad Yadav, which had rented a shutter in the bar office building.

A staff member at the firm, Saurav Yadav, sustained minor injuries to his fingers and leg in the explosion. He has been taken to a provincial hospital for treatment.

Police said it is not yet confirmed whether the explosive device was a sutali bomb or another type of explosive.

Deputy Superintendent Pal said no pamphlets or leaflets were found inside the room or around the shutter where the explosion occurred.

A team from Nepal Police and the Nepal Army has been deployed at the site. A bomb disposal team from the Nandabaks Battalion in Chorwaha has also arrived, and further investigation is underway.

Police said the situation, which briefly created panic in the area, has now returned to normal.
