Nearly 50 percent of General Convention delegates have signed so far



KATHMANDU: The second special general convention of the Nepali Congress is currently underway at Bhrikutimandap in the capital. While party leaders are addressing the gathering at the venue, general convention delegates are also continuing the process of registering their names.

According to the party statute, at least 40 percent of general convention delegates must sign to convene a special general convention.

The convention organizing side has been claiming that the special general convention was called after 54 percent of the delegates signed in support of it.

Organizers said that as of now, 49.34 percent of the general convention delegates present at the venue have signed in favor of holding the special general convention.
