KATHMANDU: A religious “Shrawan Foot March” was organised in Kathmandu on Monday, with participants demanding the restoration of Nepal as a Hindu state.
The procession was organised by the Nepal Sanatan Dharma Sanskriti Sangathan, affiliated with the Rastriya Prajatantra Party (RPP), on the final Monday of the holy month of Shrawan.
The march began at Maitidevi Temple and concluded at Pashupatinath Temple.
RPP Chair Rajendra Lingden and other party leaders participated in the procession. Participants chanted slogans calling for the preservation of Sanatan religious traditions and culture and the restoration of Nepal as a Sanatan Hindu state.
The organisation said the march was organised to promote Sanatan traditions, protect Nepal’s religious and cultural identity, and take its demand for the restoration of a Hindu state to the wider public.
