KATHMANDU: Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle is set to hold discussions with representatives of multinational companies that have invested in Nepal as part of a series of consultations on the implementation of the budget for fiscal year 2026/27.
The Finance Ministry has invited senior foreign and Nepali partners from 20 major taxpayer multinational companies operating in Nepal to the discussion, which will begin at noon at the ministry’s Subarna Hall.
During the meeting, Minister Wagle is expected to seek detailed feedback from the companies on the facilities provided by the budget, challenges they are facing and measures the government should take to facilitate further investment, job creation and the repatriation of returns from Nepal.
The minister will also encourage the companies to present their concerns openly and submit details in writing.
As part of the same consultation series, Wagle has previously held discussions with representatives of 33 major industrial houses that operate manufacturing industries, generate significant employment and contribute to the national economy.
He has also held consultations with chief executive officers of Class ‘A’ commercial banks in Nepal and executive directors of Nepal Rastra Bank.
